For 2026, BVBD welcomes back Andrew Burn and Pablo Montes for The Baroque Experience: Historical Bassoons @ BVBD, a series of masterclasses devoted to historical bassoon and matters related to early music performance. And, this year, as an extra treat, Dominic Teresi, one of the world's foremost performers on historical bassoon, will be joining us for a couple of days.

This is not an introductory session. The Baroque Experience: Historical Bassoons @ BVBD is offered in person only and registration is limited. Watch Andrew Burn's video for more information.

Daily IN-PERSON masterclasses on matters relating to Early Music performance include:

reed making
improvisation & ornamentation
national styles
solo repertoire
orchestral excerpts

Participants must bring their own historical bassoon, pitched at A=415hz

Participants will also be encouraged to engage in other masterclasses and performance opportunities available at BVBD. Jo Ann says, "Bring your modern bassoon, too!"
